Benjamin's first Birthday

In the Korean culture the first and 60the birthdays are most important. The first birthday signifies that the baby has made it through the first year and will have a long life. The 60the year represents that the person has had a long life and they are most truly blessed. I was able to be a part of one of the first birthday celebrations which included dancing, a marionette show, and of course birthday cake!

The party never stops... Even at 60!

Marva used to be a wedding coordinator that I worked with at Bethlehem Baptist church. She has referred me to so many different people, including her daughter, who's wedding and now family I have been able to photograph. So when she called me to ask if I would be willing to photograph her and her husband Jim's combined 60th birthday parties, I was happy to be a part of another event with the family! Marva thought of everything from the outdoor tent, to the live bands, dance lessons, the 2 birthday cakes, to even the 4 corners of the world with extravagant food! And the guests came from all over the US. It was a great party and I was thankful to be a part of it! Happy 60th!!
